Default Fanuc 10T, SR807, trying to get RS232 to work

I have a mori seiki SL0, with the Fanuc 10TF control.

I've been digging through this for hours now; under no combination of parameters am I able to get any result when trying to read or punch a program than SR807 PARAMETER SETTING ERROR.

I've looked online everywhere. the error description is: ? An I/O interface which was not selected as an option was specified, or the settings or parameters related to the I/O interface are set incorrectly

I have the 10T maintenance manual (has some parameter descriptions)
I have the Fanuc 10T RS232 manual, (thanks to Al_The_Man)!
I have the mori seiki machine manual which shows the default parameter settings for the SL-0 lathe

I checked every parameter to the mori parameter listing, they're correct. I've set 20+ combinations of RS232 related parameters. I always get SR807. I'm starting to wonder if there is a 'secret' parameter to enable RS232 as a purchased option? My machine has both a 25pin and honda connector on the side of the pendant.

There's no cable problems or something like that, I'm not that far yet. This is some kind of software / parameters nonsense.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

    This problem is persisting.

I've tried to single out each RS232 option. there's 1, 2 and 3. according to the information that I have gathered,

1: connector CD1 on the CRT pcb (in the pendant)
2: connector CD1 on the master pcb
3: connector CD2 on an RS232 option pcb

my lathe doesn't have any option PCBs so it's not option 3, option 1 doesnt seem to exist, there's no connector on my crt like a honda connector for example that looks to do serial. The RS232 port on the side of the pendant is wired up to the master PCB, so its got to be option 2.

according to the mori seiki manual that I have, option 2 is the default parameter setting for the SL0 and is set to params 0020 to 0023. So, these things make sense in terms of documentation.

The other RS232 parameters are for configuring are 5001-5013 the device No., not too clear on what this means but i think its just pointing to which set of params to read from
parameters 5110 to 5162 Spec. No. (which says to use control codes, and if feed is punched), number of stop bits, and the baud rate, in sets of three like (5110 Spec No., 5111 Sopt Bits, 5112 Baud Rate), there are sets of 3 for 6 device no.'s

I have 0020-0023 set to option 2, 5001 set to 0, 5002, set to 1, 5003 set to 0, 5110 set to 3, 5111 to 2, 5112 to 10. this is the logical setup and it correlates to the default params from the mori seiki manual, but it doesnt work, still gives SR807 under all conditions or attempts to read or punch.

Its almost got to be a messed up 9000 parameter. for example, if i wanted to buy and install an RS232 option board, id put that board in, but how does the control know that I did it?? ok, so is there are parameter to enable RS232 from the main pcb also? it seems crazy, you have to be able to load data on and off as standard.

If someone knows the 9000 option parameters, will you PM me?

The documentation that I have shows that parameter 9108 is supposed to be 00101100, but on my machine it is set to 10011100.

I also noticed Parameter 7601 is supposed to be 00000010, but on my machine it is set to 00000100. I'm not sure what this parameter does, I didnt find it listed in the mori seiki machine manuals, the fanuc 10t maintenance, or fanuc 10t parameters manuals.

I did find this parameter, it has something to do with G37.3 'high speed signals' so i dont think this is related to my rs232 issue

It was the option parameters!!! that 9108 has to do with serial things. we're not supposed to post about the details so I wont. suffice to say someone had a go at the options in the past and screwed up the machine. I set it back to the SL0 default (through much scary messing around in IPL mode), and now im at least to a point where the serial is doing something, now i have a framing error. im sure ill get this to fly now at least. geeze!
