Backup to PCMCIA problem on Fanuc 21i Doosan PUMA 230
New to Fanuc and Doosan - trying to accomplish full backups.
So far, successful backups of the PMC Parameters and SRAM to PCMCIA slot via adapter and CF card. The program backup, CNC parameters, offsets, etc are failing. The status simply blinks 'output' indefinitely. No alarm, no errors.
The card was formatted in this machine, the SRAM backup was successful and the PMC parameters were successful - meaning the PCMCIA slot is working. No pins bent, good internal cable, etc. PWE is set to 1, and NE9/NE8 protect has been disabled.
Choosing IO channel 4 works on all the other machines that I have successfully backed up. Is there a chance that this control cannot write to the PCMCIA slot for these particular data sets? Maybe I need to push the data over RS232?
Any insight from folks smarter than me is appreciated.
Re: Backup to PCMCIA problem on Fanuc 21i Doosan PUMA 230
I did indeed do the SRAM boot backup - which was successful. It creates a binary that, if I am not mistaken, is all of the machine data.
The reason I am backing up the rest individually is because they can be read as text files. So if someone changes a parameter - it is easy to just look at the backup and change it back without doing a system restore of the SRAM.
Are you able to confirm that an SRAM backup contains everything needed for a full restore?
