Default Punch out... on a O-T colchester Tornado 100

    Hello people...

ok.. this one has foxed me for a while..

and i've hit a wall.. so some guidance or info could be helpfull

so we have a colchester tornado with a fault..and we need to do a bit of board swapping..

so thats not the problem .. my task was to back it all up..

ive dusted off the RS232 to usb calbles.. and after fiddling and faffing got some data out

the data i can get out is the param's (from the param screen.. hit output / start , and it spewes data out the port on the front of the machine and into my laptop.. all good..

but can i get it to send me the programs..

    no..

the key is not in the program protect yes.. position..

i've been through all the manuals i can handle..

the recollection we have here is that we should be using the punch button on the menu (when in I/O, on the program page)

but nothing.. i dont get a blip.. not a sniff.. nothing.. but the param's from the param's page work like a charm..

so to avoid me going mad.. any ideas..

    thanks in advance..

    Pb

    Hi there....

I think that’s exactly how it should work... but for some odd reason nothing happens...

When I transfer the Params, I see the message in the bottom right corner, sending , or active, or whatever it says... and it flickers when I press the start ... if the dnc isn’t ready if flickers just one time quickly... but if the transfer starts... it flickers for 30 or 40 seconds whilst the data transfers...

But when attempting to initiate the program transfer there is no action from the little message ... it doesn’t flicker... and if feels like I’ve got something set wrong.... now this machine has never to my knowledge been connected too any computer before... maybe when it was new... but we got it second hand , and we have only ever hand written programs on it...
But now we would like to back it up.... as I say it’s allowed me to transfer off the parameters... (I think)... it’s just the 40 or so programs we need to get done..

    Any help is appreciated

    Thanks

    Pb

Use NcLink software to take back up from fanuc controller.
