Default 1990 Supermax TC2 Fanuc 0T control how to set parameters.

I just purchased this lathe. I have never worked with a Fanuc control. I am able to home and jog X and Z after homing x if I jog X+ I Move about 2" and hit the axis estop. I have found the parameter for this it is 50000 hundredths of a mm. It looks like it needs to be around 49000 hundredths of a mm. I do not know how to edit this field. There is a key switch on the front panel what does this do. The manuals are sketchy at best.

Thank you for your help. Pictures of Control to follow.

you just need to make PWE=1 and you can adjust the parameter.

    Thank you for the information.

I was able to change the X+ and Z- parameters. Now I am trying to figure out the zero on X . After homing I am able to move the X axis 2 inches in the pluse direction. Should the X axis after homing not be close to it's maximum plus. Is there another parameter that does this.

the zero position of an axes must be between 5-10 mm away from the emergency limit switch.
after zero position should be soft overtravel on +(parameter 700,701,702) usual is 2.5 mm away from zero point and than remains about 5-7.5 mm untill the hard limit switch.

Attached are some pictures of the Home proximity sensor and Estop limit switch. As you can see the homing sensor and the metal tab that are used for homing are 2" in the axis negative away from the Estop switch. so when i set parameter 0700 to 49500 this stops the axis just short of the Estop limit switch when jogging and I now get a X+ over limit instead of an Estop.. My position readout then reads approx +1.900 inches in the positive.

Is there a parameter to correct this (move position 0.000 closer to the Estop switch)?

Also on the control panel there is a key switch. What does this do?

it is normal operation.you should have an + overtravel limit switch before hitting the e-stop limit switch.
you have on the panel the O.T release=Over Travel release-when, by accident, you hit the e-stop limit the O.T release button is bypassing the limit switch and let you jogging the axe in the opposite direction.

    for your question,yes.
you need to change the parameter 21 and 22 like this

    you will have like this
    p21 00000011
    p22 00000011

first you need to make the parameter 700 bigger than you have with ,let's say 50 mm
than you jog the axe more closer to e-stop as you wish, better let 1 or 2 mm before hit the e-stop
than make parameter 21 000000010 and parameter 22 the same 00000010
power off and power on and than make parameter 22 00000011 and 21 00000011 and power off and power on.
now you set the new reference point closer to e-stop
you have now only 1 or 2 mm before hitting the e-stop and you need to set up the soft over travel limit by parameter 700 that will be in my opinion 1 mm if you have set up the home position more than 1 mm before hitting the e-stop.

    my parameter 21 00000000
    22 00000000

    I set them to: 00000001
    00000001

I now have a: 310 error manual reference point return is required for X axis.
and: 311 X - Axis APC Communications Error failure in data transmission.

    Thanks again for your help........

    I returned P0021 and p0022 to 00000000

and The 310 and 311 alarm went away but zero is still 1.9" away from estop switch.

you should return the parameters after you move the table little closer

    tnchchub;

Sounds like you're trying to set the +SOFT LIMIT for X. If the value is "50000" that means 50.000 mm.
To change the value: Select MDI mode > On the SETTING page, set PWE=1 (Parameter Write Enable) >
page to the parameter you want to change and enter the new value with no decimal. In your case, "490000" >
Go back the SETTING page and set PWE=0 > Press RESET> Test your new soft limit.

If the control gives you a message about CYCLING POWER, turn Off the control, wait 10 seconds, & power ON.
