If you have tool1 set Z0 top of part command Z-1.0 crt shows Z gos Z-1.0
now you put .200 offset for tool1 prog tells t1 to go Z-1.0 tool travel Z-1.200
no problem. My dumb question is should position page on crt show that Z went Z-1.00 or Z went Z-1.200
The machine should show the same absolute Z position regardless of the offset (i.e. Z-1.0).
The 'Distance To Go' will be more since the machine thinks your tool is now shorter by 0.200".
If the absolute position shows Z-1.200 then something is wrong.
There is a parameter that says something like 'Position Display Includes/Does Not Include Tool Offset Amount'
You want it set so the position does not include the tool offset amount. That way the absolute position display will always read the same as your programmed positions.
Do you have info on this parameter for 6m ? I dont see anything in my book.
The position disp. shows Z command + H amount total. Program will run fine,
but confusing when Z0 shows Z-13.483
it was parameter 010 bit 2 (1 to show only programmed positions, 0 to show position including offset). but that was for 6T.
I don't have the parameter number for 6M.
Yes I checked the 6t book its there, but there is nothing like it in the 6M book.
In the 6M book where that group is there is one bit shown blank I might try
changing that and see what happens.
