Fanuc OM electrical schematic
Hi, I am an electrical engineering student and am doing a project that consists in removing a CNC controller and replace it to a PC with free software and create an interface between the PC and machine, keeping theb same part of the power control of motors. I need help to choose the software and finding the wiring diagram of the controller FANUC OM. The CNC machine is a CORTINI 3.F.400 1989 with automatic tool change. I have some references of the controller boards if necessary. Thanks

I can probably help with a connection manual for the 0, there were a few versions which used different servo drives.
The interface on most of the Fanuc systems is proprietary so you may have a problem interfacing.
Also with a tool changer you may want to look at an outboard PLC to carry out this function.

i can also send you a connecting manual but you must first choose witch kind of fanuc 0 you want... just one thing, you need a PG programmer with a rom writer on all the 0 system exept with 0i to create your pmc... hard to do il you don't have any knowledge on fanuc...

I know it´s hard to do but it´s my project of school.
I have photos and references of servo motors. I don´t know if they are AC or DC motors but i think they are AC because they are 3 phase. look the pictures.
The tool change will leave to the end.
First I will focus on command at least one axis of the machine through the PC.
I will investigate what type of fanuc o I have.

Yes. AC servo's, normally they have a Red cap, the DC have a yellow cap.

ok, you have 0B system, mother board must ref must ended by 0285 or 210, but the most important is that you have a pmc L type.
Did you have tool to edit a new ladder ??

I thought you intend fitting new controller, if so you cannot use the Fanuc ladder (PMC/PLC).
Automation direct is a cheaper one with free software.

how can you use digital servo (6058 series) with an plc other than fanuc ???
No, I want to eliminate the old controller (gabinet) because it doesn´t funtion. But I have to take the part of the engine power control.
Now I have an PC with EMC2 software to control the CNC machine but I need to make the interface between the PC and the old drivers of servo motors.
yes, my servo's have a Red Cap.

Hi, the reference of motherboard is A16B-1010-0285 /15B instead of previous.
Shame to remove the Fanuc which is a better controller than the EMC!

before taking that Zero out, better be sure your PLC can handle Fanucs 4 channel grey code servo commutation and straight PWM output... I believe Delta-Tau CNC was the only ones that ever succeeded...
I dont think the 'B' used them, but- if youve got serial encoders forget it.
I found only FANUC 0 series schematic & electronic circuit on eBay.
But not sure it is applicate for 0 series model B or not.
Try to search "FANUC Schematic" on eBay, hope the results can help.
