Hi All,

I recently purchased a used 5 axis Motionmaster with Fagor 8055. I ran into a problem the other day with my additional hard drive not being recognized by the controller. The problem started when I heard what I thought was a fan starting to go on the fritz, and quickly realized that it was the hard drive itself making the racket. I pulled the 8055-e module out and discovered that this hard drive is a simple IDE laptop drive.

My question is with replacing the drive (with one obviously exactly the same), is there a specific format that the new drive must have in order to function, and if there are any additional files or programs required in order for the controller to recognize the drive? FYI - my machine is still working perfectly fine with both the on board memory and additional Card A.

My plan is to swap the drive with a new drive with hopes that all will work.

Any insight or past experience with this problem would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!
