Hello everyone. I've inherited the task of helping a company restart their tool room. They changed to 100% outsourcing a number of years ago, and their Tool Room has been sitting unused. That didn't work out, and here I am, restarting things.
I have years of cnc experience, but have never run a Fadal. There are two 1993 Fadal 3016's that need to be brought online.
My question is, should lubrication pumps work properly upon start up, or do I need to complete a specific purge process before running the machines? I checked the oil level on the lube pump near the disconnect, but didn't see anything else that needed attention. I don't want to just start running things, and find out I did damage because of lack of maintenance, or proper start up.
Coolant was drained, and other than that, I have little history on what was done before they were shut down. One has retained it's parameters, and one has lost them due to not being powered up in so long but I can dig into that later.
Manually pump the lube a few times and fire it up. Go through the startup in the book as to Cold Start them jog it around to distribute the oil. Many vids on youtube. ATMan Unlimited is good once you get by the obnoxious intro music.
