So, I have a sheet metal shop and I also have a newly acquired Fadal.
Does anyone have any pictures of the top covers for the enclosure so I might be able to clone?
I'm sure it can't be too difficult but hey, why reinvent it.
I hear/see mention of some guy on ebay but nothing came up for me.
Also, why buy if I can build!
Thanks. I have the parts book. I was more less talking about the aftermarket covers that people make to keep chips and coolant from flying out the top of the enclosure.
I've seen several folks asking about them so I was curious more than anything else.
From hours and hours scrubbing all the nasty stuff under the enclosure I have to assume it leaks like crazy at every joint and the top may be the least of my worries!
It honestly amazes me that anyone would design an enclosure like this. Typically, the bottom pan would have a nice lip pointed up and all the walls would go on the inside of that lip. At least that is how I designed my previous enclosures and they sure didn't need caulk nor did they leak. I also noticed everything pools at the front of the enclosure because it doesn't tilt back towards the drains.
I hadn't made up my mind if I'm removing panels, cleaning, and resealing or if I plan to clean up the edges and use a good lap sealant. What is in there now looks like bathroom caulking and isn't holding up very well.
I'm thinking, or hoping, I can just pull the bolts out of the bottom pans and drop each one individually and leave the side panels where they are,
so I can clean and reapply sealant around the parameter, replace the pan then move to the next one.
It doesn't look like very many bolts. Oh, and I have bonded sealing washers for all the bolts so that should help some as well.
