Air leaks out the bottom of the spindle when I activate the drawbar cylinder.
I took the cylinder apart and it had good o-rings but I replaced anyways and clean it all up.
I put it back together and the same thing happens.
It appears air comes out of the cylinder's center shaft / stem, and flows thru the spindle.
Is that by design or do I have something wrong? It doesn't seem like enough for a air blast but I guess anything is possible.
Sounds more like a leak to me.
Should be a ~.050 side hole in the push out rod that bleeds air down the drawbar for air blast at tool change .
It is not a high power blast like some machines with on board air surge tanks.
Great, Thanks for the info. That's good to know so I don't waste much more time on it.
Honestly, I didn't think there was really enough air to do much good.
