What type of breakout board do you have to control the machine?.

Not sure what you mean by breakout board. The cnc is controlled through pc parallel port.

The board that is inbetween the parallel port and steppers. That is called a breakout board.
For example see the one I've imaged below.

On this one I've selected for the example:
You see the row of 6 terminals on the right hand side. Those are for spindle control and power to inputs.
Now on your image of the box you're asking about:
The SWITCH would go into the top 2 terminals if you wanted the relay to control M3/M4 or just an on/off.
The wires marked as MACH3 would go to the bottom 2 terminals. The positive (0-10v) goes to 0-10v on the board and the negative (GND) goes to GND on the board.
Then change active low/high if needed so 0v is stopped and 10v is full spd.

These terminals and other inputs on this board (left) only work if a 12-24v psu is applied to the central 2 pins of the 6.

The relay is Pin 17. (Would be direction/on-off).
The 0-10v is Pin 1. (Would be the pulse/step counts).
Set spindle as- step=1, dir=0 (in motor outputs).
Set ouput1 as Pin=17 (in outputs), set spindle M3/M4 as output1 (in spindle setup).
Set spindle as pwm (in spindle setup).

Set active high/low as needed on spindle step & output1.

Could be a pain. Most of it isn't soldered up!. Do you not have any limit switches on it then?. (bottom right). below the G/ IN// V pin holes.
Do you have only 5v going into it or is there a 12-24 as well?.

It looks like your board is PWM output to me but can't be sure. A 0-10v output type needs at least 12v to operate. A pwm type needs an extra analog converter board.
On the left in the middle there are 2 pin holes on there own marked pwm, that's the area they would go.

Could do with model number / manufacturer tbf.
I would prob swap it out with one of those 5 axis ones I showed earlier personally.

It's cheap Chinese one, will look at replacing it. Thanks for your help.
