For milling and modeling, NX cannot be beat. Esprit was miles ahead in lathe and wire machine and milling was very good. NX continues it's downward spiral of changes.
Esprit
NX
Which would you pick and why? I’m at a new shop that uses MC and dear god it’s terrible, and with a brand new 5 axis on the way, it’s time for some real software. I’m an NX guy so they’re leaning towards that, but the lathe side uses Esprit so I’m honestly pushing to simply add to that package because if it’s just as powerful and intuitive as NX, I’ll be acclimated to it in no time. Thoughts?

interesting, I have been looking at Esprit for features and parametrics for a famioy of parts, Yes I suffered to learn Mc. I have one guy with NX and another esprit. both were paid to learn and use. after we did graphics in the early days.
