do a two sided machining. at some point you will need to anyway
Hi There,
I have a DXF file that I'm wanting to tool in EnRoute but it wont let me and give an error that says loops detected.
its a lead in and lead out on a top that I'm wanting to minimize the chipping on the underside of high pressure laminate tops. (cant run the laminate face up as it has drilling on the other side)
I have tried every lead in combination in EnRoute and its still chipping out.
hope someone can let me know on how to add a tool to it.
Thanks

I know it is a bit of an old post.
But I think Tim is suggesting to drill the holes, fip the board then mill the piece out, (or cut out then fip and drill) as a two step process.
Most cutters will have trouble chipping laminate at the point they break through the surface at the bottom of the board. Especially if they aren't really sharp and you don't have a good smooth fall-board.
Alternatively, have you tried not using a 3-D ramp process? Set up your ramp point so that the tool plunges straight down to full depth off of the edge of the material then ramps in an arc onto the cut. You either have to set this up around the perimeter of your sheet or mill a hole where the tool will plunge first.
