CNC EnRoute Software ?

I'm new to AutoCAD 2011 (but have some AutoCAD version 14 experience (all 2d)).



Our company has a MultiCam router/engraver. The sole user of this MultiCam equipment retired and left no information about anything associated with the MultiCAM router/engraver.



My supervisor has asked me to "look into" getting this MultiCam equipment functional. With my very limited internet access at work (big brother is watching) I was able to learn that MultiCam uses EnRoute software which accepts *.dwg, *.dxf, & other file formats.



Has anyone used AutoCAD 2011 with the EnRoute software? I'd rather not have to learn another program if AutoCAD 2011 is compatible (I have enough on my plate).

enroute is signmaker software for the most part. It can be 'tricked' into performing other operations but..... leaves much to be desired. Ive been using it since 2007. I cannot say that I am impressed but it does what I need it to do.. or at least it did. I am now looking around for alternatives. With better tool pathing options and file conversion. This is quirky software at best. I am not sure about it at present as I am on version 4 point something or other. I am not sure what version is now available. I would hope however that they have addressed some of the issues that were present 'back in the day'.

If they are using AutoCAD 2011, then they are probably also using an old version of Enroute?

Just save your CAD drawings in .dxf format, and they should import into Enroute fine.
You're probably in for an incredibly steep learning curve.

I find for the majority of 2d/2.5d work EnRoute is exceptionally good. Also considering that if you draw in layers you can actually automatically toolpath to a layer and it automatically select tools to do the job. When I used to work for one of the manufacturers in Australia, we would output kitchen cabinet parts, all drawn in layers and EnRoute just process them. It is exceptionally hassle free once you know how to use it. I'd recommend it to anyone.

I hava a problem, I am trying to make a constant dado in plywood by setting plate to bottom of surface, but having a problem of the dado not staying the same, when I reboot my CNC. Any thoughts?
