Duro UAS and Duro Workforce are developing an apprenticeship program for CNC operators and are looking for an experienced CNC Instructor to come on board for our initial pilot program. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled CNC Operator to take on a short term project to earn some extra money and train the machinist of the future.
The start date for this position would be June 18th, 2018 and would run for four weeks.

This would be teaching 12 apprentices the basics of CNC machining before they move onto the on the job portion of the program at their employers locations.

Must have:

  • In depth understanding of manual machining equipment capability, and part processing
  • Experience setting up and running CNC machining and turning centers
  • Ability to use precision measuring equipment; Micrometers, Calipers, and Bore Gauges
  • Ability to manufacturer parts within tolerance
  • Ability to understand Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance
  • High competence and professional exposure to the following: CNC mills & lathes, 3/4/5 axes
  • Strong knowledge of the following subject areas: CNC Safety, Shop Math, Metrology, Blueprint Reading, GD&T, Quality Control, CNC Programming, CNC Tooling, CNC Machine Setup, and CNC Operation

Minimum of three years of relevant industry experience (CNC machining/programming using MasterCAM or a related software)
Successful candidates must also have the ability to build rapport and trust with our students, dependability, a sense of urgency and commitment, strong communication and public speaking skills, and patience.

  • Experience with Tormach or Jet CNC Mills a plus
  • Must be detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.
  • Must be student oriented.
  • Teaching experience desirable
