Planning Retrofit Emco pc mill 125 with Uccnc

Longtime reader of this forum but today i became a member =)

6 months ago I purchased an Emco pc mill 125, operated with fanuc 0-m, quite old and boring..

Got an idea that it might be possible to retrofit a new controller like axxb or uc300eth. With Uccnc or Mach4

x,y,z is driven by 130v servo and spindle 190v servo.
Only the spindle got encoder, the rest got some kind of synk.

I think is seems to be possible to control these drivers with another universal controller when I read the electric schematics.

Need to do some research regarding atc and toolchange.

Also need to add som inductive limit switch to xyz.

Did read some threads about vmc 100 but i need some assistance regarding this servos functionality in my conversion

Is the machine controlled by a front end PC running Windows? If so I know exactly how you can get started. Tons of the info you will need will be right in config files you can read, including electrical info, how the sync works, etc.

It's extremely detailed, assuming you have a similar control system as mine, running a windows front end pc

I haven't found it, you may need to run one of the files through a translator to get it into english, but for my machine, somewhere in the config files was some good info like step and direction signal times.

btw, in my files you can see, for example, the sync settings:

[AxisCheck]
Check0=1
Check1=1
Check2=1
Check4=1
Tolerance0=200
Tolerance1=200
Tolerance2=200
Tolerance4=500

you can see that each axis must be synchronized within 200 steps(unless it's some other unit, I'm going to test). There's 2000 steps per revolution, for my machine, so the accuracy isn't very great, but if there's a crash, a belt breaks, etc. it will let you know.

For example, during homing, the error is only triggered on some of these machines if the sync signal is not detected within 1.5 revolutions. During cutting it's more accurate (presumably, depending on the units of that 200 in the tolerance value)

Hello, Sorry for a late reply

I did sell my Emco Pc mill 125 right after my started thread, last week i just purchased a new similar unit but with Siemens simatik 840/810 with ACC unit.
Works like a charm even if i load a heavy gcode.
