setup of the servo itself is straightforward, but a new experience cnc wise. would definitely advise running and setting up the servo fully on the bench before installing. since this is not really a stepper, you can put it in modes where it runs away (you can't stop it). no major incidents but that was an eye opener. the next hurdle is to figure out how to install the pinion, as there is no set screw. solutions are:
    1) drill the shaft for a pin
    2) loctite the piinion
    3) source a new pinion with a set screw and grind a flat spot on the clearpath

anyone know the pinion specs? looks to be 16 tooth

When I got my first clearpath, reading the specs, the manufacturer recommends against setscrews and keyways on my NEMA 23 series servos. They advise a couple of different friction fit pulleys instead.
