I have a project coming up requiring some 4th axis rotary milling of some helical splines. I'm still learning the best way to use some of the milling toolpaths in Edgecam and I would like the code to be as clean as possible.
Could anyone explain the process to unwrap geometry from edges pulled from the solid model to create 2d wireframe on another level?
I would use this geometry to rough the floor between the splines keeping the tool on center.
Then use the solid model as drive surfaces for a 5 axis toolpath with 4th axis output to finish.
