    Default Z axis died

    Hi Tom,

It been 6 or 7 years since I last communicated with you because during all that time my Kstep and Kflop have performed flawlessly......until tonight. Some how that Z axis stepper cable got pinched between 2 moving parts of the gantry, cutting into the cable insulation and killing my Z axis on the Kstep, J5 in my case. I was hoping that maybe there is fuse, diode, transistor that might have blown and not U20 or U13-16. When I hit Init I have 2-3 volts on J2, 3 and 4 but zero volts on J5 A to A and B to B. I'm pretty sure what your answer is going to be but I figured it was worth a shot.

    Hi Jack,

    Sorry to hear that.

It’s hard to say the extent of damage. We don’t find it cost effective to do board repairs.
