Default kStep board warms up to 75 degrees

    Good day!

kStep board - warms up to 75 degrees Celsius, Kflop is heated to 52 degrees Celsius. See video: https://drive.google.com/file/d/17rL...yFqF6V6d3/view
Warms 75 degrees - set 5 amper, 65 degrees - set 4.38 amper current on the board.

We use NEMA 23 stepper motors (4 amp current, Resistance, 0.9 ohm).

Is it normal that the boards heats up so much?

Default Re: kStep board warms up to 75 degrees

    Hi RuslanRobot,

Sorry for the delay I thought I responded but don't see it.

The KStep MOSFET Junction Temperatures are rated for 150C and KFLOP DSP for 90C so that should be well within margins.

Without significant airflow across KStep that would be expected and should not be a concern. KStep uses very efficient MOSFETS (17mOhm) to operate without a fan or heatsink but at max current will still be somewhat warm.

    Nice thermal imaging!
