Dear Tom,
I use a KFlop+KStep controlled small Sherline CNC-Lathe to turn some hardwood accessories for musical instruments. I have one tool cutting from the front and another from the back. This way I can run the whole g-code without changing tools.
I used to do this with KFlop+KStep+Mach3 (it worked ok earlier, but somehow I can’t that to work anymore - no movement for some reasons), but I thought to start using KMotion as it works very well with my 3-axis gantry-router.
But I run to a problem. The two cutting tools are fixed sufficiently far apart on the slide, so one doesn’t disturb the job while the other is cutting. These tools have certain offsets registered in the tooltable as “X offset” and “length” (=Z-direction). When I run the G-code, the correct tool number shows in the KMotionCNC screen, but the offsets are ignored. Only if I change the tool MANUALLY, do the offsets show correctly.
Am I missing some setting? Or do I need some c-program to run when M06 happens?
Thanks for your help.
Eero
