    Default KFLOP KANALOG FADAL

    I'm retrofitting a 1999 Fadal 3016L with the following;

    -Fadal (analog +-10v) AC drives
-BALDOR wye/delta analog Vector Spindle drive (with encoder for tapping)
-21 tool geneva (non servo) ATC (MOTOR DRIVEN TURRET AND SLIDE)
    -PDI Bijur way lube system
    -Flood coolant
    -Thru tool coolant
    -E STOP (contactor type)
    -MPG with single ended encoder

Will a KFLOP and KANALOG have the I/O to operate everything on the mill? I'm considering using Mach4 control software.... Is the KFLOP a good pairing with Mach4? Any tips or further information is appreciated.

    Hi Chris,

I have a 94 Fadal 4020 running from Kflop/Kanalog. My drives are different so cant help you there, but all the outputs (toolchanger, spindle, oiler, coolant, chiller etc) on a Fadal are very easy to control with your existing 1100 interface board and Kflop. I can tell you which pins on the 1100 board control what as well. Ill post some pics of my setup later today/tomorrow.

Personally i would reccomend you use KmotionCNC. Dont complicate things by using Mach. KmotionCNC will do everything you need to do.

You will also need a Konnect board to handle all the inputs and outputs on a full function VMC. Good luck with it.

KFlop doesn't have a Mach 4 plugin, and I'm not sure what Dynomotion's current stance is on that.

There is a Mach 3 plugin, but the supplied KMotionCNC is good and very reliable. It's even better now that you can edit screens.

    Hi Chris,

Did you ever do the KFLOP retrofit? I'm thinking of doing one and wondering how it turned out for you?

I went with Mesa control boards and LinuxCNC. It took a considerable amount of time but has been flawless. What fadal model do you have?

I don't have one. I'm looking to get a 4020 and am anticipating upgrading the controls.
