Default Dyna Em3116 Intermittent Boot Failure Help

    Hey Guys,
I just picked up an em3116 that works great, until it doesn't turn on.

In the mornings it sometimes just doesn't want to power up. The control LED's flash in sequence like they are supposed to, then nothing. The screen doesn't show anything, all the drive boards in the back have a Red Led and there are various LED's blinking in rapid succession on the main board int he rear case. A few attempts and power cycling will get it to come on, and then it has no problem turning on and off all day. I'm stumped.
All the voltages look good with a multimeter, and without the display powering up I can't get any fault codes.

Does anyone have a schematic for reading diagnostic LED flashes on the main board in the rear of the machine?

i had the same issue with mine for a short time. the RAM had worked loose. Try taking the ram out of the main board, blowing out the connectors, and then reseating the RAM. wiggle it back and forth a bit while seating. any idea what software version you are running?

bummer. i took my whole control pendant apart to clean it out, it was full of chips. it could have been something else but the RAM trick fixed mine. Your software is quite a bit newer than my V2.2.

The machine has build stickers from '98 inside.

I'm about at my wits end here I can't find any pattern here it's completely random.

Before just randomly replacing obsolete equipment I'm considering just throwing some gecko drives and a breakout board on it and running mach3.
