Default What Type Of CNC Machine Drills Multiple Holes?

I have 13 of these cedar posts, will probably 4x4, that need ten 3/16" holes drilled up them.

what type of CNC rig will drill these? Hopefully I can find someone in the San Diego area if I know what types of machines will cut these. It would save my poor elbow cutting all of them on the drill press!

Just about any CNC machine can do that. The limiting factor is the length of the posts. I suggest looking for someone with a CNC wood router. Many machine shops cutting metal won't let a wood chip get anywhere near their machines. Coolant, oil and wood chips are not a great combination, but zero problem for those who work wood all the time.

I don't know... cabinet makers? A guy in his garage with stronger and more agile elbows and a drill press? :-)

I have 20 years experience programming and running large CNC routers in high volume shops.
I could drill those holes faster on a drill press.
Make a master template, and attach it to your parts with double sided tape. You should be able to drill each part in 1-2 minutes. 1 hour for the entire job.
You're probably looking at $300 or so to have someone do it for you.

Be aware that the CNC is only going to drill one hole at a time. There are industrial wood routers that can drill multiple holes at one time, but the bits are fixed at 32mm spacing. And you'd need to use their standard drill size, typically 5mm.
