Default USB breakout board and touch plate problem

    Good day everyone,

I have lingered in the back ground for a few years now dreaming of the day I could own my own CNC Router. I finally got one. Bought a Bulkman 3D, I have it up and running with some help from a friend.
Today I was trying to hook up a touch plate, my two wires that go to the touch plate work , as the z is coming down I touch the two wires and it works with the script I installed. Great I thought.

The problem starts when I touch the router collet it sparks, then nothing happens. I have a XC E-cut 4 axis USB brake out board running Mach3. It’s running 24V. Has anyone had this problem before.

Note: Limit switch’s work, also when I touch the collet the limit switch lights up in the Mach 3 diagnosis. Otherwise machine works great. Any help will be appreciated.

    Thanks.

Not easy to help from that description... Unknown CNC, unknown electronics, unknown wiring... a lot of unknown but important facts. When you say "it sparks" do you mean literally? In that case you have a serious electrical issue. Also, you have two wires. Does it sparks regardless which wire you touch the collet with? Probably you have a grounding issue, but it is impossible to say from this post. I think you should find someone near you with some (the more the better) electrical knowledge who can measure and fix your problems.

However, remember the maximum current from a USB port is 500mA. There are two types of common breakout boards for this chip: One with only the charger chip ...
