    Default Placement of the Y Axis Rails-Option 1 or 2 ?

Can you please guide which is better practice for the placement of my CNC Router Y Axis Rails (SBR-20).

    Considering two options

    1. Mount two rails on the side of the machine facing out? (refer image 1)
    2. Mount one (or two rails) to the top of the machine facing up on each side?(refer image 2)

    Your thoughts appreciated thanks.
