Cnc Router Speed

hello today i just bought used cnc router 4x4 for 480usd everything is working well but the problem is the rapid speed is so slow around 240ipm max so i was thinking to convert this cnc router to cnc plasma,is there any suggestion for stepper motor which should i go if i want to focus for speed?
i already got 4 driver DM882/AM882 which operate from 36v-110V thanks.
