I am leaning toward the G540
I just received an ESS Ethernet to connect to my Hobbycnc chopper board so I can run Windows 10
My lpt port is out on my xp box and its slow and old
I am planning to run the G540 with it when I upgrade.
with new motors, power and spindle.

    Your work has been inspiring
He basically have to cause i have his machine

The G540 seem to be a good unit, i just ordered one today, need to make up a pcb for faster connecting of wiring.
This machine i am working on still runs of the printer port, he's bringing it around for me to sort cause he could not get it to work.
I think i will modify his panel so that he has the option to do a quick upgrade to a motion controller if required.

    Thanks for the compliment

No work done on the mechanical....however there will be some changes to the control box. Reason for this is electrical safety and cost. I was going to have dual IEC filtered supply point/sockets due to the VFD in the box. This would have meant a four pole panel mount isolator would be required. In the photo i temporarily installed a three pole. After some testing i have decided to use a single 20A IEC filtered socket to supply everything in the panel. Thus the existing isolator is fine....Also the gland plate entries will change and some of the wiring, i did this to allow for easy upgrading. The HY drive will be replaced with a more compact 2.2KW drive. This will free up space for other bits, he is already talking about a fourth axis, so i will add a leadshine drive
