    Default cnc router problem

    New to cnc cutting i am have problems with my cnc table it seems to be cutting 2mm shorter on the Y axis not to shore how to solve this or where to start hope i have put this in post in the right place and help would be gratefully received thanks Dave

    Have you verified that your steps per unit settings are correct on Y? Have you checked the backlash?

    i have set up as per instructions that came with the cnc not sure about backlash what this is (very new to this)
    setting i have are
    $100=26.667
    $101=26.667

    What type of mechanism moves the axis?If it is belt driven,there is the possibility of a bit of slack in the belt.Maybe you could post an image or two of the troublesome axis components.

    did you change the y steps to the same as the x

    they are exactly the same as it is a 1500mm x 1500mm machine and here are the settings that can with the machine

    The y and x are different normally they should be the same

    To my eyes,the x and y values are the same with the exception of the maximum travel.This probably reflects the different lengths of travel on those axes on the sample machine.

    Looking at the photographs of the machine It is clear that it relies on a toothed belt for motion.I would begin by checking that the pulleys haven't worked loose and that the belts have no slack as either of these things could cause the backlash that was mentioned earlier.

    Check the drive belt pulleys have their grub screws done up tight.

    thenumbers are not the same. change the y to the x number $100=26.667

    $100=26.667
    $101=26.667

    Those are the numbers I am seeing.The discrepancy appears to be the $130 and $131 which don't correspond to a table of 1500mm X 1500mm ,but I suspect this is derived from a specimen setup sheet.I feel quite sure the problem has it's source in something mechanical.

    i have know i dear how to move this to the right place and to the people that have helped thanks the, x y limits are different but the step/mm are the same
