    Gantry Beam and Y/A Carriages:

    3060 gantry beam:

    Install 20mm linear rails top and bottom and then the Y/A carriages to the bottom:

    Turn gantry around and place it onto the linear cartridges:

    To finish the assembly of the main frame, plastic trim needs to be installed as shown:

    Same as with other plastic parts, use open gear grease on mating surfaces:

    Btw, how do you make the posted pictures show up larger? They all end up posted as smallish thumbnails but are at the 1025 pix and 500kB limit?
    I tried it both as attachment and as image but no difference. Thanks.

    Main machine frame is finished. Time to move on to the Z-axis.



    Z-AXIS ASSEMBLY:

    Please note that some of the details are from earlier iterations.
    The design and concept is the same.

    It is easiest to assemble the Z-axis separately. These are the components for the Z-axis:

    Place the square nuts into the slots of the spindle mount frames:

    Nuts installed and mount frames aligned. Middle nut acts only as a spacer:
