Default Rubber seals/dust guards for axis.

    Hi,

Does anyone have any idea what kind of material the strips are made of on for example a step craft machine. I want to do something similar on my DIY build and want to experiment. I assume its neoprene rubber or or something? Thank you.Rubber seals/dust guards for axis.-s2-300-2-jpg

    I can't answer your question.

But I have been thinking what to do on my own build to protect the ballscrews. I was thinking of using some kind of broom material in two strips if I can find it. Like the bristles of a broom, mounted as a shield with the ballnut housing extension parting the broom bristles behind the Z axis.

I don't know if I can find said broom bristles.

But perhaps that's another option for you if they can be found.

Accordion and broom style eau covers can easily be found on AliExpress, with various kind of profiles. Vendors even make them to buyers dimensions

You can find them on mcmaster. They are called strip brushes. Mcmaster also has all kinds of rubber strips as well. I thought about using brushes as well but I see many commercially sold machines using some kind of rubber strip like that stepcraft machine
