    You cost me $50 !! After your last post, I bought 50 HSS 1/4" downcut bits. At $1 each, it doesn't matter if they don't last too long.

    That's very cheap. HSS around here're about 2$ each.
    I ask my friend at IL to be my hub and he's flying to Thailand. Very good friend

    The 50 bits are Onsrud HSS, much more than $2 retail.

    Check out bamcarbide.com. Some good prices there, though I haven't ordered from them yet. You can get Onsrud endmills cheaper at Enco than from Onsrud directly. drillman1 on eBay for the smaller stuff. Also Kodiak Cutting Tools for aluminum endmills. I don't buy cheaper no-name import stuff, since you can get high quality US made stuff for not much more. Basically, don't cheap out.

    What would be a good bit to surface (facing) acrylic? I need to skim off 1.5 mm.

    Best tool for acrylic is MCD (monocrystalline diamond) but it's uber-expensive. PCD is good... still expensive. Have to polish afterwards...
