    Default mtp1 probe info

for wiring, with the probe tip facing down, and the connector facing you, the upper left and bottom right pins are an NC switch. the remaining two pins are for the led.

    Uhhh...
Hmmm.. my probe doesn't have an upper left / lower right...

it has a sort of upside down 'Y" shaped socket, see below...
(ignore the hyphen characters "-", used as spacers)

    up (shaft)

    ---O-
    ---O-
    -O- -O-

    down (probe)

    any ideas...????
    Thanks in advance
    john

If you are still looking for information, I have a PDF of the original manual.

I can tell you that it's a conductive probe, which means that the circuit is closed by a signal passing thru the tip to a conductive item which you are probing, back thru the frame of the machine, etc.

On the DIN plug connector (end of the cable not plugged into the probe), P1 and P3 are used, P2 and P4 are not used. P1 connects to the shank of the probe, P1 connects to its tip. When the tip couches the work piece it therefore closes the circuit between P1/P3.

Let me know if you want a copy of the manual.

I see this is a pretty old post but I have one of those Mitutoyo touch signal Probes too. I can't figure it out. It only has 2 wires and it is not a simple NC or NO switch unless it is broken. I got it off EBAY and it looks perfect. If any of you guys has any info I would greatly appreciate it.

    Thanks
    Bart
