    Default PUMA 2500Y Tailstock Jammed

Issue with tailstock no longer retracting via footswitch or M code in manual. Tailstock is engaged against workpiece, was functioning properly earlier today. Tailstock traction bar is retracted and cannot function via M codes or buttons on control unit. No alarms, spindle and axis's stick move, just no way to retract or move tailstock. Any advice is much appreciated.

    Are other M codes working OK ? M03 ?
If so, mu best guess is faulty valve solenoid.
Look from el-pictures correct valve and check if voltage is coming.

    Have you tried M12/M13?
Sounds like a stuck valve or perhaps a prox switch

Did you unclamp the tail stock not the Quill ?--------Make sure the tailsstock is actually clamped first
