Default Need help with steady rest program

Hi everyone. I've been trying to program to move the steady rest but the M code M58/M59 just don't work in this machine.

Can you please share your experience programming this?

    TIA

    Serial number?
    Electrical Edition number?
    Ladder version?

From that, I can answer anything about why or why not something is happening.

I found this label behind the machine.

That has the machine's serial number. (found on the placard, located near the main power switch)
That has the Electrical Hardware version. (found on the placard, located near the main power switch)

    What is the ladder version?
    Press the <SYSTEM> hard key
Press the <PMC> softkey (depending on Fanuc model)
Press the <PMCPRM> or <PMCCONFIG> (depending on Fanuc model)
    Press the <TITLE> softkey
There is a field: PROGRAM DRAWING NUMBER (it is in the middle of the page)
It contains a LONG alphanumeric sequence, separated by a comma or colon...and then another alphanumeric sequence
I need the WHOLE code...everything in that field.

From this information, I can see why the machine does anything and everything related to IO

    Per your electrical manual:
The option, if purchased, has a right/left independent open-ability, and a separate m-code to clamp/unclamp its brake bar.
see the m-code list in the first part of your electrical manual.

If you want to know the output, and the sequence on actions that enable it, I would need the ladder version.

Thank you for the M code chart. M36-39 work just fine.
Just one more thing, I need to bypass the chuck and tailstock. I know M31 is the one I need but it doesn’t work. I can’t move the tailstock while spindle running

If more information is needed, I recommend that you call my cell number that is listed in my footer.
(normally use my Office number, but covid-19 has us telecommuting...)
