    Question First day at job!!

    Hi Gentlemen!

Just started first day at work and found myself with daewoo dmv 2040, 21i Fanuc controller.
Wasn't able even to run it. I managed to do jog, unclamp and manual stuff, but no spindle rotation. The machine did not react to cycle start in MEM mode. Operations in MDI mode also refusing to execute.
The only indication I have is blinking red "RMT DGN", remote diagnosis I guess. In detailed massage it shows "RS 232c Error (5)".
Oil checked , Nc alarm light checked, all axis in zero pos, doors security checked. (The RS 232 component is missing. This is old machine and there is a hole instead of the 21 pin plug)

PLEASE help. I need to show them that I know something. Wasted 5 hours pushing buttons and no result.

    Remote Disgnostic.
OK. Something has been removed from the control, and the control "knows" it and is in alarm state.
If some wires and plugs are disconnected but the control is still looking at that output, it will cause an alarm.
Might want to try changing the I/O channel.

I did try to play with I/O channels. I tried 4 and 0. Not sure if I’m supposed to turn off the machine or the alarm should go after I change the I/O. Anyway, no effect.

    RS232 is on channels 0 & 1
    PCMCIA is channel 4

If the machine requires a power cycle it will say "must turn off power"

Yeah, got it. But look guys, I don't need to read the cards, pc via cables or send programs. I just want to run the machine properly and get rid of the alarm. How do I tell the controller to ignore the missing rs 232c ?
I already tried these channels(0,1,2,3,4) - no effect.

There may be a disconnected card or channel in the machine.
    Where are you located?
