It should be just as stable as the ESS.
I'd recommend the AXBB-E. It has more features, and you don't need a breakout board.
I'd also pay the $60 and switch to UCCNC, which is far superior to Mach3.
Noob question.
Anyone using this combination of UCCNC400 & Mach3?
I've seen a plugin for it but is the setup stable?
Should I just go with the ESS Smoothstepper and not look at anything else when the time comes?

Uccnc is better than mach 3 .
I wolud not use mach 3 after i use uccnc .
