It won't work on port 4.
It must be used on ports 2 or 3.
So, the port number is either 2 or 3, whichever one you use.
And the pin numbers are listed in the G540 manual.
After the recent problems with Mach3 and Windows updates, I am moving away from Mach3.
One of my new machines will be a Gecko G540 / UC300ETH-UB1 / UCCNC setup.
After some initial problems getting the software to recognize the hardware, I am now in the process of configuring the Ports and Pins in UCCNC.
I have the Gecko plugged into the port marked LPT4 on the UB-1 board. How do I know which Port# and Pin# to specify for the motor parameters?
Thanks for a link or any help.
Gary

Gerry,
Thanks for the quick reply. I've attached a picture of my UB-1. Are you saying that the port marked LPT4 maps to Port2 and LPT5 maps to Port3?
If so, where is that documented so I can read up and not have to ask here.
Thanks again,
Gary
Sorry, I missed the part about having a UB-1.
Unfortunately, the G540 will not work with the UB-1.
Ports 4 and 5 on the UB-1 use pins 2-9 as inputs, and the G540 needs them to be outputs.

The UC300ETH has 5 ports, but only ports 2 & 3 are "standard" ports, and when the UC300ETH is plugged into the UB1, those ports are already being used by the UB1.
If you need to use a G540, you'd need to use the 5LPT motherboard

Please explain how.
The G540 has a parallel port input, and the only two available with the UB1 are ports 4 and 5.
On a G540, pins 2-9 are the step direction lines, but on port 4 or 5 of the UB1, these are input pins.

Wiring screw terminal pins of the UB1 to input pins of the G540. Not a simple solution, but could be done. Using a 5LPT is much easier though.
If we use ESS on this G540, it just replace ESS with UC300ETH-5LPT, easy. I have done this on my machine.
How to add 1 more axis on this one if we use 5LPT ? It is OK to use BOB such as STV2 (cheap chinese BOB) than connect to port #3 on UC300ETH-5LPT, then the driver (DM542A) is connected to the BOB ? Sorry I ask this question and I do not plan to hijack this thread.
