Default Boxford TCL160 with original Software

I have a nice Boxford TCL160 (1994 build) complete with ' 8 Way Tool Change Turret' and running in 'Stand alone' mode.
There is a Mitsibushi Frequol Inverter Z024-S0.37K controlling the spindle.
The Z axis has a limit switch fitted which I have tested and is fine.
All other functions work, tool position, spindle fwd/rev, speed up/down.
I will eventually want to convert it to Mach3 however before I do I want to see how it performs with its native software.
I have 4.3.1 but it wont run on windows 8 64bit machines (not surprisingly)
    Has anyone done this.
Are there any other ways to get this running or do I have to purchase a 386PC and install the software ?
    Any help would be good.
    Many thanks
    George

Hi - I'm running my TCL160 on an old laptop running windows XP using the serial port. Boxford "Design Tools Version V10" and in the help/about menu item I have "Release build 3.15, Lathe cam 4.0.38.2." Having fun cutting tapered BSP/NPT threads/adaptors. I also have the 8 way turret and am working on a way of accurately setting the circular tools (drills) to be on centre. Software won't work on Windows 7 or 8 - simulation fails. Good luck and have fun - it's a great machine as-is.

Just use a coaxial indicator mounted in the lathe chuck or collet to centre on the drill holes in the turret. Then set the coordinates in the software for each turret position. That is how i will set my turret when i get the software.
