Hi! I've been playing around with an old 3D printer a friend gave me to have a play with and see if I could get working. It's got both a COM port and ethernet, and I got the ethernet port working and connected but want to be able to keep the printer in my garage rather than have it next to my computer in the house (not enough space for both in either spaces) - what kind of solutions are there? I'm thinking of buying a router and creating a new network for just my solidworks desktop and the printer (can probably find one at a local Curry's or something - I live in Liverpool if anyone has any ideas for where to look). Would this approach work or is there a better solution to this, bearing in mind the space constraints?

thank you!
