Done this on quite a few occasions, as long as grounding is done correctly.
The practice of including the control system next to servo drives etc is done all the time in commercial systems.

Hey so I'm wondering if there would be any negative effects if I decided to put the main board and power supple and hard drive of the computer in the same control box as the g320x's and breakout board and main power supply so I could have it all in one box. The thing I'm worried about is noise. Has any body ever done this? It will have decent air circulation and the box is huge for just the cnc stuff so I wanted to put something else in there. I have other questions about the controll box but I will start another thread. I'm still waiting for some parts.

Ok what do you mean by grounding correctly?

Ok now I'm like that guy. Lost with electronics but what I understood is that I should tie all grounds and 0v to a common point.
Now should I connect this to the grounds on the 110ac coming in?
I am surprised Al didnt answer this. My understanding is that the collection of grounds DOES need to be tied into the ground of your incoming supply. I believe this gives them the path to dissipate otherwise it creates noise. Of course I could be wrong. Hopefully judging from the post date you found the answer.
A lazy man does it twice.
I guess I missed it, but yes the service ground needs to go to any star point ground in the enclosure.
