    Default Drilling inconel

    I'm drilling .012 holes .150 deep in inconel.....The recommended feeds and speed are 3250 rpm and 1.87 imp.....no success at all.....does anyone have an idea???? Thanks in advance.

    This is a old thread, but I'll bump it up.

    Inconel really doesn't like high SFM.

    I successfully drilled 200 .032" holes at about .2" depth. Walter cobalt drills.

    400 - 500 rpm, 0.1 IPM feedrate, 0.05 peck.

    You want about a 0.0001 to 0.0002" chip load. Drills are effectively a single cutting edge, not two.
