Default Why CNCzone blows away newsgroups and other sites for discussing CNC?

Here is a partial list of why CNCzone blows away newsgroups and other sites:

Ability to post pictures in threads for free to "show" what you are talking about

You can format your posts using our MS Word style inline editor. Use bold, italic, change font, change color, add links, photos, change size and more. No weird bb code to use. It is wysiwyg!

Instant notification of any threads you subscribe to via secure email.

Instant notification of interest in any of your posted ads.

Your email is never displayed in public on the boards. Email or private message other users securely.

    Customize your forums of interest

See who is online at any instant.

Powerful fast search of the entire site.

Post images in our photo gallery.

Post polls of any question you want and view the results.

User reputation feature to "rate" users posts and build reputation for quality posts. (note: measures are in place to make sure nobody gets slammed)

Post icons and smilies inline in posts or on messages

    Custom user titles

Custom avatars allowed (the little custom picture you make to put next to YOUR username in every post).

Signatures allowed. Setup your signature and then you can check if you want it posted with all your posts. Edit signature anytime.

User control panel to adjust any and all of your preferences such as whether to subscribe to threads by default, whether to receive notices of private messages, forum layout preference and dozens more.

This is only a partial list of why CNCzone as a platform blows away newsgroups and many other forum type sites.

Register for free and make a test post and explore the user control panel to see more of what CNCzone is about.

Paul all the things you mention are excellent attributes of a successful site, yet my reason for staying and donating to the CNCzone is the friendly, helpful, enjoyable thought provoking post and the almost non-existent know it all member. Your site is fantastic and shows ample evidence of the effort and thought put into it, but in the end, it is the members that make it successful.

    Thanks for a great site.

    Ken

You are 100% correct, it's the members that make the site great!

Oh and You forgot to mention the wonderful administrator.( crawl crawl suck suck ) No but it is true. I have belonged to other forums where if you made a request 99% of the time it fell on deaf ears. Here everything is heard and considered. Good work Paul.

This site is the first I have actively contributed to in years. Most BBS sites dont seem worth the trouble - or the problem isnt engaging enough to merit interst.

However, the "gonna make it work no matter what" mentality of the people who contribute here is insipiring and in some cases humorous(the particle-board cnc mill!).

anyways, i hope it keeps getting better!

My favorite feature: the comprehensive search. Good forum software can't be beat. I love this place.

Definetely a great site!! A place to share ideas, learn about everyones succeses and failures, and build upon it. The links, the downloads, the discussion, the helpful people and the charitable administrator all make this one of the most informative web pages on the 'net.

    Thanks to everyone

This is one of three forums that I actively participate in; all are successful because of the well built site, great management, and a wide range of active members. This is now the only machining forum I visit. My biggest problem is keeping my focus with all the new ideas flying around.

    Thanks Paul
    Gary
