    Default I have a question, C11G breakout board CNC4PC $68.00

    Hi,
If I have a older PC dedicated for the mill with a Parallel port , Will The C11G - Multifunction CNC Board CNC4PC sells for $68.00 would this be the only board I would need to run my mill? https://www.cnc4pc.com/c11g-multifun...cnc-board.html

    OR

Would I still have to add UC300ETH - ETHERNET MOTION CONTROLLER $125 + mother board $29 and Cable with C11G breakout board?

And last question will it work with mach3,uccnc, and linuxcnc?

    Tell me more:
    - What are you using now?
    - What operating system?
    - What functions? features? are you running? wanting to have?
The C11G is a basic breakout board but has all the major you may need. Like:
    - Spindle Control.
    - External Hardware Enable.
    - LEDs on all I/Os.
    - Built-in Pull-up/down resistors.
    - Spindle Control.
    - Relays.
    - Watchdog (Safety Charge Pump).
If you want to use it with Win10/64 and Mach3/4 or UCCNC, you may just need to add a UC100 or other motion controllers, like the ESS or UC300ETH.

Arturo i'm running closed loop steppers, say if something go wrong like loss of step the drive with have a alarm light on and is there a hookup on the board so it stops the program?

This may be a little more complex. It should be doable, but we would need to get into the details of the circuit your stepper motors use to figure out how to wire and configure the logic for this.
If you are using closed loop steppers, you may be better off using a multifunction board using the RJ45 connector boards. These RJ45 connector boards handle the wiring and logic for most drives making it easier to wire systems with feedback as they not just connect the step and direction signals, but also the fault and enable signals.
In your case, maybe the C76 with the C34HS connector boards would be the solution:

I like the C76 board is that all in one board?

Yes... It has several options that are configurable on checkout. So you do receive one system.

    Hi,
when using closed loop steppers the drive fault can that be wired along with the E-Stop?

The driver fault should not really be in line with e-stop. It should feed the controller and trigger a fault.
It should be possible to wire the fault line from the driver or drivers if you connect them in parallel to an input signal. But this depends on the drive and its circuit.
When using drivers that enable and fault lines, we recommend using a breakout board with the circuit built in for this. Like the:
    - C76 https://www.cnc4pc.com/c76-uc300-mul...ion-board.html
    - C82 https://www.cnc4pc.com/c82-dual-port...n-board-b.html or the:
    - M16D https://www.cnc4pc.com/pokeys-motion-mother-board.html.
You can use the C34HS to connect to the driver:
    https://www.cnc4pc.com/c34-for-hybrid-servo-drive.html

This will connect not just the step and direction signals, but the fault and enable.

Sorry to dig up an old thread, but I have similar questions and hardware that the op used, I have a closed loop steppers, and ESS, and C11g bob, I have it all up and running currently, and now I’d like to start adding some extra features, I want to get the alarm(fault) and enable lines setup, but I’m not really clear on how to do this, I have some spare input openings, but can someone please explain how to wire up these 6 new lines? I don’t have that many ports, but it sounds like I can wire them in parallel somehow(also not sure how to do that). I am using mach4 I haven’t checked to see if there is any built in code for these features, is it as simple as just linking them to the corresponding pins, like I did with the step direction pins for the drivers?
    Thanks
    Thanks

Note that the alarm signal can be different from drive to drive, that is why we created the C34 boards with this feature built-in. That way we do the alarm detection circuit on the board and make it easy to wire and configure. For the ESS, we recommend using the C82: https://www.cnc4pc.com/c82-dual-port...n-board-b.html

Yes, you can do the circuit manually if you understand how it works.

Good thing I just bought the c11g then, so you say that there is a way to hook it up to the c11g? I just need to figure out how to do so? Based on the signal that my drive produces? Im willing to put in the time and research if you’re saying there is a chance it is possible.

I was wrong about having a few inputs available, I only have one more open, is there an add on board that would allow the use of the alarm and enable features more easily?

I would also like to know the answer to this. I have ESS and C11G and am wondering how to get my alarm signal working. I looked into running the Ethernet cable from my driver through a C34HS and then into the C82. will this accomplish that? I have the CL86T drivers and they output a ethernet line. Any help would be amazing i cant find anything on these encoders that isnt leadshine or clearpath.

For use with the C34 boards, we strongly recommend you use the C82:

You keep making/updating add-on boards to connect to boards like the c11 but.....
Instead of ending up with little add-ons everywhere as we grow machines and making it messy....
Can't you just update a new main board with the new connection types and pcb designs built in?.
Just like cncroom have with the MB3.

By the time we've bought all these main expansions, little RJ45 modules and other extras, we could've bought a nice Acorn setup.

It all depends on the application. For simpler setups, you can use the C25XP which uses terminals:
    https://www.cnc4pc.com/c25xp-smooth-...ted-board.html
For wiring more complex drives, the connector boards make it easy and safe for many. Check out what this guy did and how simple he wired such a complex machine:
