Default M16D - PoKeys Motion Motherboard controlling LittleMachineShop 5200 spindle

I have just bought a setup from CNC4PC based on the M16D Pokeys Motion motherboard and I am trying to figure out how to use it to control my LMS 5200 Lathe (https://littlemachineshop.com/produc...3995&category= ) spindle (on/off, fwd/reverse and speed).

I have also bought from LMS their CNC spindle control upgrade kit from LMS https://littlemachineshop.com/produc...ory=1687114045, but not sure if I need it.

Electronics is not my strong suite, so any help on how to wire it up would be gratefully received.

    Thanks

    David

    David,
You do not need the spindle upgrade kit, your controller ships with a cable that plugs directly to the speed controller on the LMS speed control:

I just checked, it appeared it was not shipped with the controller. We will send it today.

    Great thanks Arturo.

I'll look out for the cable.

I received the cable today and everything is connected and working.

However, the only problem I have is the commanded speed in GCode (ie M03 S1000) is not getting the correct spindle speed. The RPM shown in Mach4 is the correct spindle RMP as measured by an RPM gauge, but is higher than commanded, ie M03 S1000 gets a actual rpm of 1780. My encoder is connected to the spindle via 1:1 gearing (ie a 45 tooth gear on the spindle driving the 45 tooth gear on the spindle).

Any suggestions on what i need to do to fix.

    Thanks

    David

If I may ask do you have the index function connected ? From what I understand the encoder has a index function . And if you do dose your index light blink on the diagnostics page ?
