Received replacement parallel port, network and USB cards from eBay china. That fixed all three cnc controller PC's.
I narrowed down the X3 mill Z servo motor as having damaged encoder output. Using a oscilloscope, I found The complementary differential outputs were still good. I just unsoldered the A/B wires and moved them, easy fix.
Almost 2 months later, the Workshop is up and running again. All four cnc's plus laser are now working.
Took a long time searching eBay but finally found three matching NSK ground ballscrews for my mill. 10mm pitch, 14mm diameter. $260 for all three. More than I wanted to pay but they are in fine condition. The ballscrews are longer than needed so will have to be cut down to size. My summer project....
Testing linear axis speed for a large format CO2 laser build. Speed is more than fast enough for a laser. I don’t expect to need more than 500mm/sec for most laser cutting or raster. Pretty good for a small nema17 stepper.
With acceleration/deceleration, the average speed in the video is about 1600mm/sec or 3800in/min.
