    Default CNC foam cutter

Here is one I built about 6 months ago. I use the 8linx board. I updated the motors to 100oz and got more speed on a 3/8-16 rods on my X-axis and used ACME 3/8-10 for the Y-axis. Both axis operate about 3mm/s and its fast enough. Got most of my information from the French sites and tables already built.

I did not want to have to build a 6" box platform so I made some modifications.

This cost me about $200 for the electronics and another $250 on linear bearings and shafts. The rest of the parts I made from plastic (cutting board) and wood as I do not have access to a milling machine.

Looks Nice! Do you have any pictures of things you've made with it?

I do have some sample cuts located on my web and more pictures of my machine at

Also made some horizontal foam filler for my P38 fiberglass fuse and was extremely happy with the combination of strength and light weight.

you can't see the blue foam filler on the horizontal stab, but its there.

Recently cut panel cores for filler for my outer panel molds, will take some pics tonight and post.
