    Default X axis gear wear

    Hi all,

Got a problem with my 5x10 CNCRP Pro. Was running a 3D parallel cut and noticed the x axis slipped about 5mm - by the time I noticed it was too late and the X axis rack and pinion was worn - had noticeable metal dust along the axis edge - the pinion had a definite wear line of 1mm. Attached some picture - anyone have any idea how this could happen? Lose set screws?

    Thanks

    S

    No pic.

Pinions wear out, and need to be replaced periodically.
