    Default PRO 4824 Enclosure

    Hi All,

May I ask if someone would share the most extreme measurements of their CNCRP PRO4824 machine with me? i.e. X axis proximity sensor to opposite prox sensor. Reason I ask- I need to build an enclosure for my machine (which I will order next week). I see the footprint on the website, but I am not certain it accounts for all components.

    Thanks!

I have mine in a corner of our garage and have it about as tight to the back and left walls as possible.

I wouldn't make anything smaller than:
Height: 74.5" ( depends on what riser, motor, etc you have )
Depth: 45.5" ( Including the prox sensors CNCRP sells )
Width: 70" ( That won't allow the doors to open on the CNCRP control boxes )

    Hope this helps.

I set mine up in an enclosure with an internal 4' x 7' footprint. I forget the height but I gave myself 6" above the z-axis cable chain. Set up my own cable chain so it might not match your dimensions.

Is this to help with sound or chips? Or both? How loud is the unit?

I would guess for sound - there are certainly less expensive ways to do chip/dust collection and maintain better access to the machine. Routers aren't quiet, but I think my dust collection is louder. I wear hearing protection as a matter of course in my shop, but it is separate from the house so less likely to bother other members of the household..

I have a small 2x3 foot CNCRP Benchtop Pro that I enclosed. Here's a couple of photos. It provides about 9 decibels of sound attenuation and allows access to all 4 sides of my machine. Good luck with your build!!

Looks good, I like the way you did the vertical opening doors.

The enclosure is for sound. The machine is in my garage in a townhouse community so I don't want to disturb the neighbors while I run the machine at night. As is it helps quite a bit with noise and I plan on insulating it. All the walls are bolted together with sealing strips so I can still access the back and sides if needed. Crawling inside the enclosure works too

For dust collection, I've added a port for a vacuum hose and am in the process of making a dust shoe and boom arm for the hose.
