    Default Getting different results when changing the feed rate on my machine.

    I am getting different results when changing the feed rate on my machine. When the feed rate is slower the engraving looks a lot better. Anyone know what would cause this?

    When you look at the picture of the two "e"s the first "e" was done at a higher speed and the second "e" was done at a slower speed. So my question is what the hell would cause this? We replaced the bearing blocks on the X axis do we need to replace them on the Y axis too?

    It looks like the second one is carved deeper than the first; all the V-cuts are wider. Did Z change position from one to the other?

    It was the brush on the dust boot. Everytime it went down to carve the brush was pushing against the workpeice and moving the spindle. So I just cut the brush shorter.

    That looks like a fairly clear sign of a flexing machine.If a few bristles can cause a distortion you might want to look around the whole machine carefully.
